Only change to the amp is the Weber Classic speaker. Even has the original footswitch. Thought I would just do thumbnails this time. Now I know mine is a newer series, but what ther hell it is still "OLD AMP PORN".

Very cool amplifier! How is the treble on this one? The GA-5 was ear-piercing at first, I really had to roll the tone back on the guitar, and even then it was hard to tame. After removing the "tone sucking network" inside it, it is still quite bright, but it's easy to control with the guitar's tone knobs. I guess you have more control with this amp, since there are tone controls on it?Now ya'll know that you cant " DOUBLE DAWG DARE " w2ith out a legit reply from a good ole boy like myself, so you asked for it and here it is.

At $75 it is a steal any way you look at it! I'm sure you can make it sound nice. The tone is not that great. I have not worked on it any. This is a future project for when I retire next June. I got it for $75 so I could not pass it up. It had no speaker so I put the Weber in it. Once I start to work on it I wi;; of course post pic of the progress.
Mr. Gahr...!!! Love that tone. And that is some sweet and greasy Delta vibe you got going... awesome...A quick and messy sound clip of the Derek Trucks SG played through the Skylark. Volume at 7 on the amp. Bridge pickup for most of the clip, neck pickup at the very end. Recorded with my iPhone, excuse rather messy playing.

Just like Gahr said, I'm sure you'll get it back to its glorious state. The tone is not that great. I have not worked on it any. This is a future project for when I retire next June. What you need to do first, is borrow someone's 100 watt Marshall full stack, or half stack will do, too. Crank it, and then ask your neighbors if it's loud. They should say yes. Then tell them: "Excuse me, I'll play my little old 5 watter then!" Your neighbors will be relieved and happy that your only using your 5 watter...But it gets fairly loud, so I'll have to check if the neighbors are out first...

Is there any reason I can't seem to embed the soundcloud link?
