So, imagine trying to break a popsicle stick laying flat, as opposed to trying the break it along the beam.
Most multi-piece guitar necks use planks laying flat like a stack of books.
This neck will have three planks, standing on end and joined with interlocking grooves.

Gibson has imposed restrictions on how much like an SG aftermarket sources can make in terms of appearance.
Warmoth stretched and mis-shaped the SG to comply with Gibson's demands.
Bodies made prior to the ruling are exempt. Bodies made by private individuals not for retail sale are also exempt.

But Gibson did successfully sue PRS over infringement with the Les Paul copying. While Gibson did lose on appeal, what they did do was prevent PRS from making "mathematically exact" copies of a Les Paul body.

Then that was about six years ago. Less than a year after I got my PGK SG Junior kit, they were gone from the website. The RUMOR of all this was that PGK received a Cease and Desist letter. Then the PGK Gibson SG Jr body style got replaced by the ESP Viper body style. And now, it's back to the Gibson style.. Yay!
The only difference that my wandering eye sees, is the top of the headstock. No open book ends for you!

I like the shape of the dark wood headstock. It has a "traditional" look buy its cool in its own way.
Here's the headstock on Mom's 1979 Les Paul Custom.
I didn't like the deep divot in the very top and asked B.Hefner to reduce the depth a little, yet still stay faithful to the original theme.
Here's the headstock that Gary at B.Hefner carved out right in front of me, from a hand-drawn sketch (freehand) with a couple of hand files.
Those truss rod covers are custom made from sections of real pearl - not mother of pearl - by a guy here in Ontario, California.
And here's the DoubleNeck serial number that I had Gary stamp into both necks.

In the so anyway thread, there is a video and pics of a method to set up a temporary bridge so that the guitar can be strung, intonated and the strings properly located. Of course, you need to install the neck and tuners first.

Mates, I need to drill the bushing holes. It seems to me, for a lightning bolt bridge, which is compensated, I should put the center of each bushing at the scale length line without offset. Is this correct? Thanks for any guidance

I was doing design and planning details for a 2 story garage I was wanting to build on my old house. I had considered something like this.
I met with a lumber company and the owner was also their main engineer. HE knew formulas and figures like we add 1+1. he blew my mind as he worked out loads spans etc.,
Here is why I bring this up and post Robert's quote. He asked me regarding nominal lumber. Would I rather put a load on numerous 2x6 members attached together or fewer but taller 2x12 members let's give for example. Then he proceeded to show me why taller was stronger and preferrable. Same principle and Rob's Popsicle stick picture.

Yes,
I considered a Pitbull Kit, but if we are gonna build it ourselves, I'd rather drive down (42 miles) to Anaheim and pick up the wood myself...
