It's a Laney 112:

They are well constructed, 13kgs, nice size and solid.

Seems to be like a Celestion V, but perhaps leans a tad towards the Greenback characteristics in the upper mids and highs?

I want a cab, and I want one now! I've limited options in Korea, but saw this today in a local music shop; secondhand, as new, sounded good to my ears. &, the price seemed ok.

^ Thanks, Steve.

Korea is quite different from the US - everything guitar-linked is expensive, and no discounts. For Korea, I feel the value is very good; in the US it's probably decent, if that.
Well, if it's any help, all the Laney cabs I've ever seen are top shelf.

Like you stated about the market in Korea, better jump on that bad boy if the funds are available.

Rock on brotha.

The Laney Cabs i have played are great, high quality cabs.
Go for it.

^ & ^^ thanks, Gentlemen.

The cab is solid, and even though it's not a megabucks speaker, it's along the lines of a greenback/creamback that I'd be paying $150+ on top of the cheapest new cabs here which are $250 - so, all in, it's about half price. If I don't like the speaker, I can sell it and put something else in... (I think I'll like the speaker.)

I have used that speaker before, VERY underrated.
If you buy that, don't think going in you have an inferior speaker.

Quite the opposite, that sounds very old school with a British type amp.

I voted no because I was asked would (I) buy this and no I would not --
there are way to many less expensive same or larger cabinets littering the pawn shops and opium dens (and craigslist) here
whey by a 1x12 ---- for 211 when you can score 4x12's for under 200??

If he had a Craigslist I'd recommend that, but being located where he is.

Not much of a selection is what he is saying.

Is the speaker cabinet actually made of “wood”?
Is the 8Ohm speaker spec ideal for the amplifier to be paired with it?

Yeah, it's solid MDF (is that a contradiction?). It's rock solid, I really like it. I was likely to pay a lot lot more, a custom Cornell would have cost me $600 (as would a Zilla). I spoke to the Mesa Boogie rep, and a 10" creamback cab would have cost me $500. So, all in all, I'm really liking this purchase (excluding the sound because I have nothing to plug it into - but, in theory, I get a free DSL1!!!).

Funnily enough, I wanted a low watt speaker, but this one is 75w. Having said that, the new amp has an OD "channel", so it just means that the combo amp has speaker breakup, but when I plug it into this cab it'll be all amp overdrive. (&, if the 8" speaker in the combo is no good than I'll replace it with a 10" greenback or creamback.)

^ I just got another head (with plenty of grunt)... Not one of those, but an extremely under-rated head which gives some of the nicest tones I've heard and will suit my current purposes perfectly. Might take a while to get to me, not local...

I was thinking about ordering up a DSL head, but I've owned one and the Diavlo, and much prefer the latter - it's on its way. :celebrate:
