Yeah, it's solid MDF (is that a contradiction?). It's rock solid, I really like it. I was likely to pay a lot lot more, a custom Cornell would have cost me $600 (as would a Zilla). I spoke to the Mesa Boogie rep, and a 10" creamback cab would have cost me $500. So, all in all, I'm really liking this purchase (excluding the sound because I have nothing to plug it into - but, in theory, I get a free DSL1!!!).

Funnily enough, I wanted a low watt speaker, but this one is 75w. Having said that, the new amp has an OD "channel", so it just means that the combo amp has speaker breakup, but when I plug it into this cab it'll be all amp overdrive. (&, if the 8" speaker in the combo is no good than I'll replace it with a 10" greenback or creamback.)
If it is the real deal I would vote yes. But, Laney and every other ad I have looked at say this cab has a marine grade plywood cab. If it is MDF I would say the cab is suspect at best.

^ I just got another head (with plenty of grunt)... Not one of those, but an extremely under-rated head which gives some of the nicest tones I've heard and will suit my current purposes perfectly. Might take a while to get to me, not local...

I was thinking about ordering up a DSL head, but I've owned one and the Diavlo, and much prefer the latter - it's on its way. :celebrate:

Ordered, paid, woke up, got an email, money refunded. Due to the CoronaVirus, lots of countries won't ship to Korea...

Shame, because I like these better than the DSLs.

I really like Randall amps, they do a great blues and OD, as well ad heavy distortion. Not a lot of clean in the 1 watt diavlo combo I had...

Here's the little Randall combo I had:

^ that Mad Professor Ruby Red Booster was better than most ODs out there - another pedal I never should have sold. (The Wampler Velvet fizz was the best fuzz I've ever owned; never should have sold it...).

& while I was looking at pictures, I found one of my old ENGL cab with the Celestion40N - that cab sounded excellent.

Decided to open her up and have a look, as you do...

The fella I bought it from said it was tightly constructed, so best take the metal corners off as well as the screws before taking the back off...

Nice metal corners, and the screws came out (and then went in) perfectly.

At the top, links to the cab input and cab output (for adding another extension cab, I think).

Everything fit very smugly, so it was put together with care.

The corners also have very nice solid metal handles:

It's not a Mesa Boogie or a high end custom cab, but I feel like it's up there as one of the better low cost options - and I'm confident the speaker will sound good.

Latest shipping info on my amp - nothing... Shipped out of Germany on the 22nd, and two weeks later it's not even in Korea yet...

Is the 8Ohm speaker spec ideal for the amplifier to be paired with it?

Sorry, I missed this earlier... My new amp (which should arrive any day) is 8 Ohm, and even though it's a combo, it has a speaker out.

Im confused how is your having a Lovely (1x12) Laney cabinet---with no amp----- "spiting me.".....exactly?

I expected my new amp to have turned up by now... It should be a really nice amp, but small and only an 8" speaker. I was looking at all options such as replacing the speaker with a 10" (which will fit) or buying a 1x10 Mesa combo with a lovely creamback - turns out that cab is so small, by new amp actually has a larger footprint, so not ideal to place atop) or 1x12 - this one was available, so I got it.

The other thing is I can justify buying some heads too... :D Marshalls are 16 Ohm, but theRandalls (which I love) are 8 ohm. Then there's the Orange Micro Terror... Many options.
