How about a buy a Mahalo amp option?

They seem like lovely amps, but too much power - and they probably wouldn't work with the power supply in Korea.

a Micro Dark head from Orange with a PPC 1x12 cab

Yeah, nice suggestion. I'm leaning on the cab/several heads option; probably follow eESGe's idea of getting a ss head, hybrid hear, modelling head and an all tube head then do my own shootout.

Orange 35RT I Love the thing!!!!

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. The plain simpleness of the Orange/Vox solutions are very appealing.

Could I ask a few questions, please:

1) Does it sound good at low volumes.

2) One video I saw mentioned that the gain knob effectively gives you 4 voices; can these voices all be gotten at reasonable volume levels if I compensate with the master volume?

3) How's the speaker? Airy or boxy - does it need a lot of volume before before it gets airy?

I also owned that same amp-- TBTH--
Yes it does sound good at low volume (all I really play) -- YEs you can get the "voices" if I am understanding them correctly-- and the speaker seemed very nice to me -- no complaints--

The amp has very nice cleans---- which can be used with pedals--
it gets a wonderful orange "tone" -- if you want to do say old Iommi licks-- well built solid-- great amp--
the 10" speaker at the 35 watt price point I found GREAT -- and was part of my reason to buy--plus reverb--its good

Id have another in a second if I stumble on a great deal again.

Right, I did buy something... So, a NAD should be running in about 7-10 days when it arrives from Germany. &, no, I'm not gonna tell you what I bought, but suffice to say it has 4 distinct voices, can go from clean to very dirty, has reverb and is simple to use with a nice 10" speaker
