Picking Dynamics and sound of pick striking string through amp.

that video also shows how "horrible" unversatile and crappy those "Velvet Brick" Gibson Bill LAwarence pickups are (ewh yuk-- if you have any SEND THEM TO ME!!!!)

He taught me how to play.
He taught Joe Bonnamassa how to play.
And you would be amazed at what you can learn from this guy. Although you will probably never play up to his actual level of skill, you will absorb amazing knowledge.

Danny was really serious about guitar playing and teaching. But he was a little quirky otherwise.
He was a pretty nice person.
He used to wear these futuristic shirts that looked like Star Trek or something.
He kept the guitars in a bank vault, and Joey remembered the combination for him. Seriously, a bank vault.

Live, I play like i am being attacked by bees. I never considered this aspect of playing???

I use only red tortoise Fender mediums, for like forever, because they look cool. I tend to use them until you could shave with them.

I point the tip towards my palm and play with the rounded edge. I developed this technique to keep from hitting the middle pickup on my Ibanez DT555 Destroyer and the habit stuck...

Ok,

Since you asked the question, I thought I would post a video clip for you to evaluate. This is just some random noodling, and it showcases my uneducated, Neanderthal technique, but I think you might hear some of the pick noise that you mentioned in your original post...I just never noticed.

Again, no stellar playing, just some drunken ramblings here...
