Peddles or effects unit ?

pedals can be a cruel costly and drawn out search for the "ONE"
However multi effects units (make me anyway) want to hit them with a hammer-- playing for me is relaxing, fun and stress relieving -- reading a 48 page book-- learning to set parameters-- find patches download edits........see now I am pissed-- wheres my hammer???????

So -- mostly I prefer an amp with reverb and gain -- and "F" the rest of it all

My preferred bass amp setting is to have no pedals-- not even reverb --- its a long stick that goes BOOM and shakes earth and destroys walls-- why break up that signal chain?

Zoom G3 works well for me with a Marshall JCM2000, since I only use its tuner, 160 comp, booster, and z-clean in front of the amp.

For my Orange OR15 or DT, I much prefer my pedalboard, with its Polytune mini, Tumnus (on absolute minimal settings), and Rocktron
Hush mini for noise reduction. In the FX loop is a Zoom MS-50G, using the graphic eq and HD reverb, with an occasional delay.

This is me too

I have both. I've gigged with both. I'm comfortable with both. But, I tend to prefer the pedals.

I use both. I have an old Boss ME50 multi-effects processor on one amp and pedals on another amp.

So I played around with the Big Fuzz on my Korg 115 but I have to say, the Vox is a much superior sounding piece of kit. Even without a Fuzz

Maybe a actual Fuzz will have more sustain? And a sound I like

and thus the pedal addiction begins--------Leedspool will be trying to "score" a cheap wah behind the Mac's convenience store----at 2 a.m. --- come on man --just 20.00 its a deal!!!

hooked...........soon he is freebasing FUZZ tones and distortion like a Vegas show girl-----just one more bump--- I can quit anytime---- come on--- oh how sad to see the decline.....

just say no Leed-- just say no................

Just bought 4 guitar picks wonder what sound they will produce Lol

Leedspool, I have a fuzz face, a big muff Pi and a Musket you can try out anytime!

I personally prefer pedals over a multi-effects unit.
I have strived to have a good example of each type of effect, such as OD, distortion , chorus, etc.
I have had both a Crybaby and Vox 847 wah pedal but never used either so they are gone.
I had an RP100 multi pedal as my very first effects but quickly went to individual pedals instead.
It can be a slippery slope, though, buying new pedals to get “that sound”. It is fun though!
