The isolated track clearly demonstrates it that he stayed in his own lane and wasn't competing with the bass player for sonic space.
@PLX Thanks for the link!
Actually imho it demonstrates how he took the riff the bassist Andy Fraser created and made it something different live. Deep full, the only competition he had was the drum and vocal during the verse. The bassist is resting.

You bet !

I was really into the isolated guitar tracks several years ago, and I have lots of my personal favorites on my channel.

They're great not only for learning the riffs & licks, but also for getting the players' tone right.

Well despite my lofty idea it was flawed. My real goal was to record the Ebony/ Ebony. EE for short before changing pickups.
In the end I did exactly the opposite of dedication to Paul.
So my before pickup change. Stock
Shiet that sounds pretty good, how do you record with that site?

Thanks man,I just uploaded it to the site.
I first recorded 2 tracks in Reaper , panned left right.
I had to through together the makeshift drum part. So I rendered it in reaper and saved.
Pulled it up as a master and used louderiser and tube compressor as well as channel strip just to get the volume up. Sort of half az mastered.
The amp model is a 2204 with 15” cabs.
The overdrive is a super distortion on .1 gain and less than 20% mix reverb.

You would not believe how I played it iblive.
The absolute simplest form but it did what I needed. C-Grin killed it.
A little bit…. Not all for sure…. Of my issue is not picking up a guitar on two months. Not just fingers that need to get back in shape, but I played enough today even my wrist was cramping on me. Only way to fix that. Play more.

Attempting to record a song with one guitar/bass panned left and the other right. Still figuring lots of stuff out. Main thing. I can play the song. Have been playing it for quite awhile. But now I’m doing parts. Bass. Two guitars. Keyboard and drums from a backing track since I am totally inept at those two instruments. It’s fun….. but learning at the same time makes it a slow process.

Keep your guitars panned L & R in mono, for a bigger sound in the final mix.

Run the bass guitar in the center, and use a compressor.

My go to for bass tracks is the Universal Audio LA-2A plugin..
