Passing of two Aussie sporting legends

This post has nothing to do with music, other than the fact that one opposing nation was so impressed with one of these guys that they wrote a song about him.
We're talking cricket folks, & anyone from a "cricketing nation" will know these two Aussie test cricketers.
Awoke yesterday to hear of the passing of Rodney Marsh (heart attack), one of the world's great wicket keeper's. Represented Australia from 1971~1984. As a Late middle order batsman he could usually be counted on to add 30~50-ish runs to the total & was know on occasion to snap bats in half from hitting the ball so frikking hard.
Awoke this morning to hear of the passing of Shane Warne (heart attack), without doubt the best spin bowler (leg spinner) the world has ever seen. Represented Australia from 1992~2007. With his ability to make the ball turn at insane angles he was able to make the world's best batsmen look like grade school cricketers. Here's the first clip I grabbed off YouTube
though IMO, there's better YouTube clips of him in action if one looks.
They'll both be missed by all of Australia & the cricketing world in general.
RIP Rodney Marsh & Shane Warne.

I watched Shane Warne in the 2005 5th test of the Ashes while I was in London ( on tv over few days at a local pub but still lol). Though Australia had lost the Ashes for the first time since 1987, Shane set numerous records during the series and played amazingly. Namely having 40 wickets, 5 sixes and
became the all-time leading wicket taker in Ashes series with 172. He also had 623 wickets by the end of the series.

Despite a fiery personality and some off field issues, he was an amazing athlete. RIP Shane!

Would have been a great experience to watch him play in England. Here's a clip of the very first ball he ever bowled in England (old Trafford), bowling to the great Mike Gatting
Cheers

Wickets o_O ?
WTF did he die from? He didn't look a day over 30 years old.
Your best and your brightest always seem to be the first to leave the building...

I tried following Cricket a few times. My wife works with folks from the British Virgin Islands, and we were getting some help trying to understand it. I wish we had maybe watched better matches to get it.

Sucks to lose a sports icon at a very young age.

Okay... That pitch was fricking sick...! Never seen anything like that!

I'll shamelessly admit that I have spent my entire life ignoring the game of Cricket. But being exposed to this thread of remembrance for what appears to be in memory of two great ambassadors of the sport of Cricket, I raise my morning cup of coffee in honor of Mr Shane Warne and Mr Rodney Marsh. Later this afternoon, as I shall continue to think about them, the toasting will involve a more appropriate beverage. May they both R.I.P.
