Robert if you don’t use the gold tuners!
Maybe we can work out a deal, Scott has a Jay Turser SG that is in gold hardware.
And we will definitely use them,
I also have a set Grover locking tuners for the
Agile

As long as they work and don't have backlash, I like them all.
I also prefer the screw in bushings to the press in bushings. No real reason, just like em better.
But if given a choice, Grovers all the way. They just feel smoother to me.

Kind of like a damm good stew!
Cheers Mitch

I HOPE it's a good stew!!!!

I like the high ratio tuners the best....Grover's seem to have the smoothest feel...

Interesting point Robert.
Not sure if i like high or low ratio.
I like the ones that take a lot of turning to hit pitch, The fine tuning ones.
Some are too quick to respond, hard to sneak up on the pitch without overshooting.

Right!!! High-ratio = many turns required

These Grover's are 18:1

18 turns of the knob to 1 complete turn of tuning post....

With the vintage tuners, whether they are Gotoh or Kluson, you have a 6mm shaft (.230") in a 3/8" (.375") or 10mm (.393") hole...BUT, keep in mind that the I.D. of the bushings (doesn't mater if they are 3/8" O.D., 10mm O.D or 10.5mm O.D.) the I.D. is 6.35mm.

So, you have a 6mm tuning post (.230") and a 6.35mm bushing I.D. which is .250", so there is a lot of slop there. True, and what all the vintage buffs say is, when the strings are drawn up to tension, all the slop is gone, but it also pulls the tuner shaft towards the bridge, and with a 1/4" post in a 10mm hole, there is no support, except for the vintage Gibson Kluson's which have a .366" shoulder to fit in the .375" hole.

I'm just super particular about stuff....
