lb fer lb and dollar for dollar the best amplification on the planet
I dont use much delay at all, rarely honestly. I like it and it gives a cool sound but im a rhythm player at heart and i just felt like i never needed it that much. Ive used it during solos to get a more sustained and carried out sound on the notes ringing out but normally what effects i use is minimal anyways.
Typically its just an overdrive pedal ( Joyo Ultimate Drive) into the front of the amp , set with the gain under 25% , tone around 65% and the level pushed around 90% to tighten it up but not add that much extra gain.
I do however use a line 6 x3 Live! in the front end as well because i only use the Tubescreamer emulator at the same settings, a stereo chorus effect ( BOSS Ce-5 emulator) at only 25% level and an 8 band EQ just to adjust the levels a lil closer than the amps 3 band. I use the amps reverb only at 1, so very subtle.
Basically, its a rip off setup not that far off from what Zakk Wylde uses in standard setup ( although he uses a BOSS Sd-1 overdrive). I dont use the same settings obviously and sound nothing like that lol
Exactly!!!!
We had to drive to the next "big town" over to buy anything more than picks and strings!!!!
Audio Window Pane!!!I'm the opposite. Well, depending on the song of course. There's some songs where I like to stack my El Capistan and my Boonar Echorec to make the listener think they are having a flashback, even if they never tried psychedelics.
My EF86 AC15 build started sustaining to much switched to the Green Hornet amp it was the guitar opening up after 17 years play timeNot for nothing, but a modern AC15 or AC30 has nothing in common with those made in the sixties. Especially the sound. There is no comparison to the old Goodmans or Alnico Blues that came with the originals, or the circuits with old Mullard or Telefunken tubes.
Like Plexi says, cheap commie junk.
With a proper AC30, not only should it sound great, but you should be able to fry a steak on it while you're playing. My custom made reproduction of Rory's amp will heat a room when playing it, and it sounds fabulous.

I am digging the chorus. Just a touch adds a lot of flavor. Thanks for the inspiration! If you ever get the chance to experience the onboard chorus on one of the old Marshall Valvestates....you owe it to yourself to experience it.
No chorus pedal I've tried, and no onboard chorus can match it for depth and width. It is remarkable!!!!
