New Traynor bass amp day. My wife was taking our granddaughter to the city shopping. I was the driver because she has an infection in her eye and the hour long trip aggravates it. They went into a Value Village, my grand’s favourite store. I went to the local Long & McQuade to pick up some strings. I’ve been looking for a small bass amp for use at home and small gigs with XLR out for bigger gigs. I’ve been watching for one of these to come up on Craig’s List.

They sell for $529 new and I haven’t found one under $400 new. I was surprised to see they had two used and one new in stock. One of the used ones was $299, the other $459. I asked a salesman why one was so cheap. He said they took it in trade and it had been in the shop for almost a year so they were clearing it out. I tried it out with a MIM PBass. It was awesome, lots of low end thump and surprisingly loud. After bit of dickering he was down to $275 ($216 US). I asked about warranty and he said 90 days but I could extend it for an extra year for $21. Their warranty is very good and covers live use. I told him give me the year extension on top of the 90 days for $275. He packed up the amp and it is in my music room now. Jamming with some friends next Tuesday so I’ll post a review and some pictures then.
