NSSD!!!!!

Thanks. Maybe ChasFred's 500° is for more delicate scenarios...

That is what I use building amps and wiring guitars. I dont want to over heat the pot covers. It could affect the pots themselves.
Just my way thats all, same temp I use for PCB also.

I just remembered some instructional videos I bookmarked. There are 5
Those Hakko vids are real helpful, cuz the enclosed owner's manual is very lacking. It took me a while to figure out how to activate the preset feature!

My current group of cellar renovations are just about done, so I ordered one just now. Should be here by the end of the week. Would be nice if the Merren transformers also showed up this week. Almost have my new work area set up at home to start on projects again.

I'll have to watch all those videos now.

Sorry for the necro-post.

wow--- you dug deep for this one John ;)

Projects?? whats first on the list???? (is there soldering involved!?!?!)

Happy to report that I have Sysco's 15 year old Weller soldering station, and it's working like a champ.
It's light years ahead of my old soldering station which was the equivalent of a soldering iron & an ash tray.
It's great to have two irons with different width tips at different temps.

Thanks again Greg, I use it almost every day

I could not remember what brand and model number that Greg bought, so I had to dig this thread up as a reminder.

And, yes it involves soldering. JTM45 build.
