NPAD - Kemper

Ok, so here are 4 profiles recorded with 2 mics and that big Seismic orange cab I have, which is loaded with a Celestion V-type G12 and a Celestion V30 G12. The mics were an Audix i5 and a Sennheiser e609. I did not do any refining as the profiles seemed to match the source from the jump.

Trivia: The difference between Clean 2 and Clean 3 is...I forgot the monitor speakers on for Clean 2! They were right next to the mics and certainly had an influence. That is the only difference.

Profiles attached for Kemper users. All my profiles are on Rig Exchange also.

The profiles are recorded in this order
Phaez D Dirt 3
Phaez Clean 2
Phaez Clean 3
Phaez M Dirt 3

I flip the pickup switch through all 3 LP positions for each profile. This guitar used to record this has a naturally dark neck pup and slightly bright bridge pup BTW. Let me know what you think

I like clean 2 and clean 3

He's making me feel like a slacker! I need to profile my amps and give him some new profiles!

My Bassman is super sweet and the Silkyn is not something that has been profiled much. Maybe
I can get to it this weekend...

Ray does that there Kemper come with any Profiles in it ? Profile, Modeling two different things right ? So it dont model amps it profiles them ?

Yes, it comes with profiles, and the Kemper site has another 16,000 free profiles uploaded by users. I have already added 11 myself. The options are overwhelming!

I guess modeling could be described as software designed to sound like an amp, where as profiling is listening to the actual amp to get the parameters into the software

Yeah!
I had seen the “stage“ version of the Kemper on the Kemper site. Interesting and tempting...it’s supposed to be the same as the non-amp head box, in floorboard form. I don’t know if I’d commit to that form factor though, but wow! To stroll in to a gig with, essentially, a pedalboard, two guitars, appropriate cabling, and a stand?!? That would be pretty cool.

Yup, if all you need is to plug into FOH you're golden.
My gigs are pretty small so I like to have some backline, but yeah, Kemper, a small speaker and I'm good to go.

How successful have you been with profiling? I seem to suck at it whilst Ray is getting great results.

I have only tried it once on my Silkyn. It was the basic type of profiling, no elaborate mic set ups or anything.

Sounded like my Silkyn to me when it was done, but I know there is much more to it!
