I'm not familiar with this T series but the '61 reissue seems to be very well accepted as far as I've read about it.

Did you need to drill extra holes?

Yes. There's 4 small holes, 1 at each corner of the plate. There's a wire frame the plate screws onto, and you lay that on the body, mark the holes and drill them.
