NGD! Look at my new TELE! Calling Ramo.....

Thanks for checking it out, bdon.
As pertains to the neck and body issues, The initial damages and neck adjustments should be relatively simple to make the problems disappear.

The Jackson's Gloss Black finish is sweet, so I am likely going to be able to blend in a good matching black and clear to make the chipped long point repair unnoticeable.

However, the head stock area where the Maple has aged, must have a hard maple bit glued on. Sand and leave a clean edge to make a crisp Black edge once repaired and painted. It will require some pretty deft neck back, new repair joint sanding and a hint of touch up paint on the black portion in order to leave the repair hard to notice.

I need to go back and listen to all the audio in this thread.

Looks like a good plan!
The SD JB and Jazz pickups sounded great through my JCM800 1-watt build.
I quickly became accustomed to resting the lower inside the V against my right leg while standing, like it wants to go there naturally.
Really comfortable feel that worked out well with how I normally set my strap length.

The previous owner had the Floyd floating way down in the body recess, as @Ramo pointed out early on.
Once I adjusted it level in standard tuning and dropped the action down it played great and stayed in tune well.
Much better than my Dinky with the same licensed Floyd.

Mark, I know you want to restore it.
I spent some time with it and some thoughts of "if this was mine". But its not.....
Play it man, just play it!!!

I'd rather play than tinker, but by all means do what you wish.

JT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, THANKS

Now with regards to just play it!!!!! Too late. Guitar is back apart, waiting on the B String saddle to arrive and for me to acquire the threaded inserts and new machine screws. Once I saw the neck was " Off center" even after you reset it, I had to get this condition STOPPED.
As a result, I also learned some amazing things which I shared with you guys, and like with the chipped off body point, I learned some other new tricks to post for all to see.

Sometime between 2am and 4 am last night, I had already turned the TV and Laptop off, but could not sleep. I pulled out my cell phone and googled, "what material can be shaped and adhere to wood most securely"

Here is a product that came up. I filed it in my brain to look up in the morning when I woke.

SO, here it is, It is called Milliput, also similar products called Green Stuff. The level of creativity of the minds and skilled hands of these guys blows my mind. But thanks to them, I get inspired to make even a simple fix like corner fixing and shaping the point of my Jackson V back to original shape.

Just a few samples of the stuff you can do with this material.

Hope I don't blow Adrian's already hindered by Soldering mind, but I just had to post this after discovering Milliput etc epoxy type stuff today.

Science class.

Well, While I was trying to make a good day of my tasks at hand today, I managed to make progress and some items I ordered for my Jackson V came in today courtesy of Amazon Prime. I am still waiting on my replacement B saddle I got off ebay though.

My Neck inserts and stainless screws came, as did my Milliput I will use to restore the broken point on the Randy Rhodes RR3 V I am fixing up.

I think I am going to sand off a little of the black paint to feather things back along the edges where the black paint meets the raw wood before I attempt to mold this epoxy putty into the nice triangular sculpture on the broken long point of the guitar.

Oh and I bought a sweet OLD but nice Drill press today for $50. The normal motor with stacked pulley type setup was swapped out for a variable speed motor off a treadmill I was told. That way a reostat controls the speed instead of pulley size and arrangement positions.

This little lightweight press will be perfect for drilling holes for the Stainless inserts in the Jackson neck, as well as enlarging the holes in the body for the 10-24 screws, and even for drilling any number of cool parts for projects I will have.

I still remember the first time I ever routed any wood projects, I used a router bit in a drill press to eek out wheel wells on a skateboard my wood shop teacher let me build after school in the wood shop. That sure was fun.

Cool score on the press Mark.
I didn’t see this thread till today.
Can’t wait to hear some clips of your rebuilt V
Cheers

Glad you made it, MItch. I am totally psyched to get the neck all done, and to put the Milliput and my Hand eye coordination into sculpting mode so I can restore the pointy point to original shape ASAP. Then once I get the B saddle, I can restring it, tweak the setup, and then crank it up through the Amp!!!!!!!!!!

OH yeah, and I need to go put my 1st attempt in baked fried chicken into the fridge now that it has cooled.
Tomorrow I volunteered to cook a ham and fixins dinner for the family birthday celebration dinner.

Made some progress on the Point repair last night, giving the Milliput a trial run and seeing how it adhered to the raw wood area of the Point on my V. It cures pretty hard. This was last night. Added more bulk to it today. It should cure in 2-3 hours they say.

Now I have to go to the grocery stores to buy fixings for a ham dinner I am preparing for a family batch of birthdays all lumped together due to Covid BS

PS. Update. Shewie I made a FEAST and did not even cook 1/2 of what I bought.

Spiral Ham, French Onion Green Bean casserole, Sweet Potatoes, Cucumber/ Tomato,Onion Vinaigrette Salad, Key Lime Pie and a Cherry/Raspberry Pie. Not sure what the Adult kids are cookin. Not that I have an issue with it, but our daughter in law is a vegetarian. Gotta always make sure to have NON meat options for her. I love almost all veggies, canned, fresh and even grown in our garden, but I am pretty sure Maria has ones she is not a fan of like I am, and she prefers others that I have not learned her favorites yet.

Well, today after a night's sleep. I was able to mix up another small blob of the epoxy putty and apply it to get my point even pointier. The Milliput dries nice and hard and yet can be shaved with a razor blade or exacto knife should any lumpy bumps of putty need tweaking. I am not sure how sandable it is and might have to hit the surface with a light touch of wood filler and feather in some sanding to blend the patch and original wood area perfectly smooth. To get things super smooth, is always a key to getting a repaint or touch up to look as if damage never occurred.

I feel funny taking pics of the point day after day, but will do so and then head to the Home Depot to buy a 23/64 drill bit and hopefully a bottoming tap to make the threaded holes for my inserts for the neck. I will be so excited to get the neck back on and straight and in perfect alignment. No more side to side misalignment issues like when John picked it up for me. And no worries about wearing out the neck holes any time the neck needs to come off/on in the future.

Also am anxious for the new B string saddle to arrive from the ebay ALLPARTS seller. Then my Floyd Rose will be ready for strings.
