NGD: Jackson KVT

I've spent a few weeks with this guy and it has turned out to be a killer for me. I had to set it up a little bit, adjusting the intonation and the string height. IT was WAY off when I got it.

New strings and I oiled up the fretboard. It didn't soak up hardly any of it so I feel pretty good about that. My Solar soaked up a ton when I first got it.

The stock Seymour Duncans actually sound pretty good. First set I've ever had that has some grunt and the clarity with high gain tones. Typically, when I play Duncan's, when you strum a full chord through some hefty gain, the top end mushes together. These I can hear every note. I'm looking at some Bareknuckles but I'm going to wait a while.

The 27th, Gary Holt is doing a clinic at the shop I got this from, thanks to @mcblink pointing that out to me. However, I called too late and the RSVP slots were all taken up. I'm kinda hoping Gary sees the Randall Lament stack there and says something about it. We'll see.

Took my Crate stack in today and traded it for this King V. I saw this hanging in the shop last weekend when i dropped my Randall stack off and have been looking at it online every day since.

I ended up paying a little bit for it, which the wife was not happy about. But I like it and it's easier to move than a big stack I'm not using. I'll have to replace the knobs and eventually the pickups, but for now, it's very nice to me.

Do you know if yours came with Duncan Distortions or the JB set?
