NEW SONG IDEAS

This thread needs a bump.

Here's some more old song ideas/riffage I found...TSL100/1960A Epi V, TS9 up front. This is from back in May of this year, IIRC

Very rough, but again, I only grab these recordings so's I can remember stuff. Pieces of this one show up (albeit in a different way) on some of the newer stuff we've been writing...more to come on that later at some point... anyway...

I love it and I do the same thing recording parts right away and then it turns into something else.
lol down the line, hopefully mine end up better but I do have a riff to work out.
Cheers

Thats the stuff There! :dood: :dood: :dood:

I have a very broad taste for all kinds of Dirt Tones. That hits the spot!

Very tasteful playing! You both Rock!!
Thanks John! We had fun with that one, that's for sure! We got a couple more in the works. We'd like to get them legit recorded instead of just a phone, but so far that's like learning a whole new art...I'm still focused on this one though lol

Dirt tones for this, IIRC, LRT has a BOSS GE7 in the loop of his 4100, he was playing his Epi '84 Explorer...I was using my Dean V into my DSL100H with the Friedman BE-OD up front. For dynamic and tone changes we both just used volume knob and maybe switched pickups. Well, I used both of my pups for that one anyway.

Right, yeah and maybe you got like half a song worked out already but it needs a little something more....go back and listen to some of those crappy recordings, and you might find something you'd forgotten about that just happens to be what your half a song needs...all of a sudden those old crappy recordings don't seem so crappy anymore! I think the important thing is capturing those random spurts of creativity or inspiration so that they can be built upon as opposed to lost to the ether.

Here's something that's been in my head for a couple days now.

I was picking around with it this morning, and so far I have this crappy recording. Just recorded maybe 10 minutes ago.

Maybe I'll find a way to use it in a song or maybe even compose an entire tune based on whatever this is

That riff is got something going on.
Big Priest vibe to me, and I like that little skip nuance you had near the end.
Mitch

Thanks Mitch, I hear something happening too, but I'm just going to have to work on it to bring out what's in my head
That’s the way it’s done man and I have a lot of crap to pick through.
And you are absolutely right on the one you have going on right now. I can’t peer into your head
but what I have been hearing is good stuff brother, keep the creative side moving.
Cheers

This one sounds interesting on the acoustic. I tried fingerpicking it and letting the notes ring out, sounds like it could be a......something?

Ta hell with the acoustic, I'm a headbanger!!! Lol well for now at least...

I tried doing something else with it. I sped it up a little, DOUBLE picked every note, and developed an ending or maybe a turnaround or something. This was difficult, and it still needs work to solidify some fluidity, but I think it's coming along....kinda uncertain about the double picking thing though lol maybe it's too much...
