Somewhere in one of my song ideas, I did a dbl picking intro,I am reminded of a violin for some reason, when I listen back to it
I thought it was a good idea, but now I need to go back and find it.
And really get serious with it.
Cheers

Sounds damm good BlinkBrought it to LRT's.....played to drum beat on PA and jammed a little bit. Here's what we got now:
Thanks Mitch,Sounds damm good Blink

Keep the mind with your song bro. Thanks Mitch, but hold yer horses.....lol
Baby steps, yeah?
This will will take months to complete as I hear it.....it's gonna be my grand opus! LRT is onboard so far lol
By the way. I am drunk lol![]()
There's always a couch on standby!
Not the best recording, even for a phone....we were LOUD!!
LOL
Do what I have been doing record anything you think is cool then you can use it like a menu to fit or try something else, I used to be able to put the entire thing together in a day , then as I played it more an more it would morph into what it is now, and it will still change before it’s over.Well, I'm alive and now sober (maybe slightly hungover again lol) and I'm not too disappointed with how that little peice turned out. I wish I knew how to get better recordings, but for now the phone will do.
So now my mind is thinking like this: "well, okay, now what? Is it a song? The beginning of a song? Outro? Maybe the chorus section, or the bridge? Or what?"
I came up with a little riff to go with it but LRT thought it sounded too much like Dio Rainbow in the Dark so it's back to the riffing board lol
It's funny how little bits and pieces sometimes either work really well or not at all.
LRT and I will continue this mission.
Yeah given that I have a backlog of riffs I think I will try to search them through. I'm not sure I have anything that fits this particular little "section" of whatever this is, but I will just have to write something new if I don't find one.Do what I have been doing record anything you think is cool then you can use it like a menu to fit or try something else, I used to be able to put the entire thing together in a day , then as I played it more an more it would morph into what it is now, and it will still change before it’s over.
Thanks man! I like that you like this stuff lolI really enjoy the phone recordings! I don't have one at the moment, and when I do, its been just a flip phone.
I'm into live recordings. Something special gets captured in that moment that I just can't put into words, but its there!
Nothing wrong with laying down tracks either.
Great playing and songwriting mcblink! :dood:
That will happen with the phone but not when it done with a better recording method , but I can only do the phone thing. Thanks man! I like that you like this stuff lol
I really want to get this stuff laid down on tracks and properly mixed and whatnot. Something more to show people than "hey dude check out this phone recording..."
It was a good enough recording for it's purpose, but I wish LRTs guitar was a bit more defined. Mine sounds okay, but in this recording his sounds a little bit muffled, which is odd because standing in the room with his amp, it sounded good, it just isn't apparent from this phone recording
I've noticed that sometimes...we've also done some where both the guitars blend together better, not sure why. That will happen with the phone but not when it done with a better recording method , but I can only do the phone thing.
Yea Don I believe you posted some of this stuff for me a bit back in time if I correctly recall. You can do a lot with an old(or new) iPhone (iPad too)these days, if you set your mind to it.
A simple adapter can give access to a whole lot of standard USB interfaces.
There are a few multitracking apps that work great.(I have a favorite picked)
I’ve posted these before, but just for encouragement purposes...
Check out this old iPhone recording:
or this iPad 2 recording(could have been done just as easily on an iPhone):
external equipment used on River of Deceit: Apogee Jam-the old one-black body/silver ends...
Guitars recorded direct. Vocals recorded with a SM7b through a low to hiZ transformer/adapter...![]()
Jam + | Audio Interfaces | Apogee
Jam + is a professional USB instrument interface. PureDIGITAL conversion, zero latency monitoring, and hi-res playback up to 96kHz.apogeedigital.com
like this one:
Drums from an app: DM1
external equipment used on Mother(I think): ART USB Dual Pre, and Apple USB adapter.
YMMV
Wow that is all very helpful, as I don't have a clue about where to start. Thanks for all the info! You can do a lot with an old(or new) iPhone (iPad too)these days, if you set your mind to it.
