Well, being that my new resonator guitar is just too heavy and actually a bit back heavy at the same time, I decided to get older wood based American made Dobro. I'll probably sell the new Regal. I have a plan though....
I contacted my "paint guy" in FL and asked him if he could paint the whole thing black then age it according to the guitar's actual age. It's a '96. There happened to be a guitar of the same model as my new one on eBay as the "after" example. It was way over priced though and came from Japan. Here is the "after" example...
I should add that mine is in much better condition than this one.



Here is my new one that will undergo the surgery...


I'm a huge fan of flat to semigloss black acoustics. This one is cool in that is comes with a real logo'd Dobro case. For the record, this is when Gibson owned them and they were still made in the USA.
