New Guitar Day!! ohhhh laa laa

The neck sure looks nice on your guitar. If you want to ensure a tight neck pocket fit loosen the neck screws a quarter turn. This will pull in the neck more from the tension of the strings. Then you tighten all neck screws and tune your guitar. I do that will all my bolt on neck guitars. It will improve your sustain & resonance. Just ask Joe.;)

Thanks for the advice Black. This neck is already shimmed and set perfect. It holds a solid note. Just ad distortion, and season to taste!!:)

Man, oh man. That is some sumptuous porn. The 5 piece neck is very tasteful. The fact that it plays as good as it looks makes me really want to try one out now. I better get outta here while I still can. :io:

Yea...the five piece wizard is king. It's what I was after. And yes yes, scrumptious guitar porn, which you need to have in your home. Please join the club!!

Actually in all seriousness, I would highly advice anyone to try a wizard neck before a purchase. It's a different animal. From the million reviews I've read, it's a love it or hate it neck. I love it.

So how do you like the radius? I converted it and it comes out to a 16" radios, very flat correct?

Yes, very flat. Some people say it is a guitar for shreding only and chords not so much. I have no issue at all. I played one in 2012, and I new It was for me.

All my guitars have a completely different neck profile, I adapt to what ever I'm playing. However, the wizard and my lp 60's slim taper seem to be the most comfortable for me.

I just got my first 7.25" radius Strat neck and I love it. There were many who said they hated them and there was the "fret out" stories, but I'm having no issues.

I've never played anything flatter than 12" radius...now I'm going to have to go to Sam Ash and try a 16"...

Cool, hope you do. Most of the wizard necks have the same profile, but the overall quality and feel differ based on the model, obviously. The prestige is the best, imo.

I just played that premium RG6PFG, and it's very very nice. I was trying to talk my nephew into buying it.

I have yet to see that Nita JIVA anywhere. Not sure if it's out yet. It looks awesome, and I bet it is.

How much nicer in the Prestige in your opinion having played both...

Very nice, I love Ibanez's! I am trying to like the Strat I got, it's a cool and nice guitar but I swapped a Jem Jr. for it and kind of wish I didn't now :(

I hear ya. I have a strat that i rarely pick up anymore. Just can't feel it. I like the Jem jr's. I can see getting one in the future. Those Jems have a cult following....basically a hoped up RG. I'll get a jr before a shell out 5k on a top Jem for sure.

Well, it's close, but in all seriousness, the Prestige is just better. I like the Edge trem better on the Prestige. The necks out of the box, prestige will almost always win. But, the premium I played last week was awesome. Fret ends were smooth as can be. Prestige = nice frets.

I think it comes down to each specific premium. The Prestige are built at Fuji-gen Plant, Japan. Fujigen has a reputation for excellent quality and craftsmanship so the guitars they produce are highly regarded. The Premiums i believe are from Indonesia, which make extremely nice guitars, but it's a consistency thing.

I would by a premium, but the price is so close I know i would switch to Prestige.

Thanks! I will have to go play some. No way I'm buying a 16" radius board without laying hands on one first.

I've heard quality control on the Premiums is very good even though they come out of Indonesia, but nothing beats a Japanese made instrument!

A nice review of this guitar. I must have watched it 20 time while waiting for the guitar to arrive. :)

I think Paul Glover does a good job on all his reviews.

Pretty cool video BocceBall69er.;) That guitar sure has the looks and playability judging from the video. I wonder what exact type neck profile it is? I heard in the past people prefer the Wizard II necks over the Wizard III. Do you know what neck profile it is on your guitar and what are your in-depth thoughts about it? I gotsa know.:hmmm:
