New Family Build - Amp Cab

Doze Green Berrys will give up the righteous Limey tonz.... at leashed for what I see on the internuts.
;)

Reading this, I am intoxicated with the urge to build the cab for my 18w TMB and giving me wood.
Alas, I have wood, but no wood of the tree plankety type.

I'll sober up before I switch on that table saw though.

Looks like WGS revamped the website entirely.
I was considering WGS but finally went with the Weber Signatures and an Eminence Legend GB128
So far anyway.......

I keep meaning to post my NAD for the 18w; I know no pics, yada yada....
Please post. I need to soak up ideas!!!

There are plenty of plans and photos out there. I was given a Harbor Freight / Grizzly dovetail jig and found the comb for box joints for it - which seems to be unavailable anymore. Here are some of my 5f1 cab build. Not Pro level fit and finish by any means but they are solid and functional. I scratch built the chassis as well, and it looks it.

Nothing notable just stroking the woodworking pron.
Lol, also note the red neck soldering iron stand which is a section of spring welded to the back piece and magnet from an old speaker I "demagnetized".
That was right before I bought the $30. Aoyue 469 soldering station

Well...all the advice I was going to give has been presented. I would go with the Birch plywood cabinet and the one 12" and one 10" sound cool. 16 Ohms in Parallel to get 8 ohms is what I would do.

That is good work. The bar has already been set rather high!

This is what I shall do.

Birch plywood (or whatever hardwood is in my local)
10" and 12" Green Berets @ 16 ohms
2 x 12" portals with an adaptor.

keep the ideas flowing please!!!!!!!!

Question: Should I keep the wattage rating for the speakers low, at around 25W so that the response is better or shall I go higher, say to 50W rated speakers?

Thanks

Don't be afraid to go wild when you cover it...

I would go with the low wattage ones because you don't need the higher wattage ones.
How loud is a dimed 40 watt amplifier? I would not do that anywhere except possibly outdoors.

"A guy walks into a bar with a 50 watt Marshall half stack......"

From Celestion:

"As a rule of thumb, the cabinet power handling should be calculated as a multiple of the lowest rated speaker. For example in a 2x12 containing a 60-watt speaker and a 30-watt speaker, overall cabinet power handling is 2x30-watt = 60-watt. In a 4x12 containing 2x60-watt speakers and 2x30-watt speakers, overall cabinet power handling is 4x30-watt = 120-watt."

OK, done. So what else do I need?
I think:

a few pine 2x2 for bracing
Birch plywood - 4x4 or 8x8?
Is there any covering that will be bad, like dampening to the sound?
1/4 input jack
What type of wire? Unsheilded right?
Screen - where do I get this?

OK, so the converter baffle is $ 40 with shipping. I will get it if necessary, but is there a cheaper or DIY alternative? I feel that is a bit high
