New Borrowed Mesa Fillmore 50 Day!!!!

Gotta give Mesa props for Made in California and their build quality.

Mesa has a real problem with board insulation, circuit track spacing, and parts spacing.
I can be sure that they have been aware of these problems for many years.

They mount resistors on top of circuit tracks, and the insulation fails. (see picture above) It forms a short circuit between the resistor and the circuit track.

The circuit tracks which are too close together tend to burn carbon traces through the fiberglass.

This happens in several mesa boogie models.

But to compound this, the design makes it very time consuming to correct above defects.
(no easy access to opposite side of circuit board)

So as far as quality...
I have seen many PC boards and amplifiers which were designed quite a bit better.
In fact I think the Bugera copy of a mesa boogie is designed in several ways better than a mesa boogie.
