Getting old and having diabetes sux. For the past few years neuropathy has been taking it's toll on me. It started with my feet and now I can't stand for more than a few minutes without my feet hurting. Now the pain is effecting my right hand all day, every day. It's at the point that it hurts to hold a pick or shift gears in my car or to even hold a mouse on my computer. The 3 things I enjoy most (that I can do in public) now bring me pain instead of pleasure. Life can be so unfair some times.

Yeah, I'm also very sorry to hear that, Grant. I'm an embodied and experiential cognitive scientist, and what folks don't realize is how completely we are interconnected, so not only are you suffering in your hands and feet, nerve endings, etc, but your brainstem is suffering big time which causes stress, lack of homeostatic balance (this just affects every part of you negatively, takes your edge off, it's like being physically angst-ridden in your skin and sinews) and all sorts of other independent discomfort and groans which are very individual.

I hope you can find a way of dealing with the situation; many folks take a little bit of zanax daily to help (promotes serotonin from your basal ganglia and numbs the pains around your branistem which was our core self before the pre-fontal cortex developed - obviously, that's quite an over-simplification). Often herbal remedies help, but it's really unique to each person.

If you're able to reduce the effects of diabetes, that'll help quite a lot. Mental and physical wellbeing are so intwined. I wish you the best - many folks are able to find good solutions that work for them such as hemp oils or tiger balm rubbed on your neck, shoulders, ankles and calves - these are important interconnecting nerve areas.

Great wisdom and advice

I don't usually like to post negative stuff here, but it seems that lately there is not much positive stuff for me to post about. There are a select few here who know what's going on in real world life and this is just one more turd piling up on my crappy situation. Something needs to change and soon.

Sorry to hear Grant.
overall health will affect the individual problems, as was said.

Sure the hand thing isnt from computer use?
I have 2 mice and switch hands all through the course of the day.
Very important, especially for the things you cant (or shouldn't) do in public!!

I know you have a lot of things going on with family and work stress.
Time to put yourself first and take care of yourself first.

Hope things turn for the better.

I wish I could channel good vibes & positive energy your way Grant.
That notwithstanding, I do hope things improve for you.

I'm not sure if it's from computer use, however it hurts when using a mouse. It hurts to shift my car, it hurts to bend my fingers. It may be arthritis setting in to my hand. I have been diagnosed for the nephropathy in my feet.

Sucks to hear such news. I am having joint issues from my work, and it's tough to handle mentally sometimes. I hope you can get some improvement and or relief, and hopefully bring some more smiles to your day. All the best Grant.

Diabetes does suck. It scares the poop out of me. I've seen it do some nasty stuff to a few people I know... or knew. I haven't paid close attention to the current treatment of diabetes, but I'm guessing that a cure is still nowhere in sight.

Just having someone to vent to is good healing vibes for me. Sorry to put a bummer vibe out to y'all.

I suffer from the same thing Grant, some days it's so bad I need help to walk. Diabetes really does suck, it messes with almost every part of your body including internal organs. I'm dealing with a mass in my left Kidney, it's benign, but growing.

Stay strong.

Wav, get some of this - you will be surprised how much it helps you:

(There are many varieties, but this is by far the best one.)

You can buy it here:
30g Tiger Balm Muscle Rub Analgesic Cream Thai Massage Muscle Ache Pain Relief 8851990221003 | eBay

It will help the physical pain, but also the anxieties and stress associated with the pain. It does far more than just relief of physical pain.

Rub it into: your achilles on both ankles, on both calves, on the top and back of your shoulders, and on the back of your neck along the spinal chord, especial up to your brainstem (where you feel your spinal chord going into your skull), and lastly around your wrists - especial the inside around the tendons and nerve clusters. It takes about 15 minutes to work and will last for several hours. It can be applied several times a day, and there are no side effects.

Other products purport to do the same, but they don't, this product is exceptional - you will be shocked by it's positive effects and zero side-effects.

we get some horse lineament stuff at the feed store (not kidding) shite works GREAT --
