You're just a little black stain and a pup set away.
I won't stain it black, to me a black guitar needs to be black gloss and I don't know if I could pull that off. Plus I like the finish it has now and don't want to redo it again.
Now I'm thinking about how/where to put a battery compartment in it. I'm also thinking about the Fat 55s because they look like normal pickups, but wondering if they'll do the high gain thing.

I like that the Fat 55's have Alnico magnets. I've been looking around, seems they can do Metal, but they can also do blues and classic rock. I'm not going to pull the trigger just yet, I need to be sure, I'm tired of throwing money away. Actually everything is on hold right now until I see what my new amp likes, I may already have it.

I did see that, but that requires removing the back plate to change the battery. I have to look and see if there's a better way. I'm not too worried about dremeling out a separate cavity on the back.
