NAD Mesa Triple Rectifier

Older version. Excellent. So many tones in it. Tend to favor mid gain & mids & it has it how ever way you want to serve it up. The small cab is loaded with Peavey 5150 speakers. , reacts to all my cabs dif which is cool. Really dug mid gain mode on chan 2. Will prob set 2 up & then 3 for radical. There is gobs of gain but it stays tight. I noticed last few weeks. When you record, Mesa bass is so usable & very adjustable vs most other amps. Can get it sitting just right on the bass with out the fight & flub

The amp is way beyond just a down tuned chugga chugga. On the Marshall cabs it has a mid focus that is a lead players dream. Having trouble containing myself last 2 weeks. The F100 & 50 cal+ lit me up, then DC3 is so raspy & brutal..then MK3 is classic..then Recto is just another level of push, but yet clear & articulate. Taking a bit to get used to, but its hard to go back once that string attack is so tight. The Tube rec & spongy switch on Rect really allows the amp to breathe a bit but still retains the attack response. Would not of been ready for these until recently, had to find my tone..coming right at my 5 year anniversary of Guitar playing since the switch from bass in 2015. I Wake up everyday so motivated cause there is so much music to make before i croak. The gear is set. Stripped my studio area & down to the amps & guitars that are keepers.View attachment 49151View attachment 49152View attachment 49153View attachment 49154
play me some metallica with that amp scoop the midds like they do :) i never tried mesa amp wonder how it sounds in person.

happy chugging bro :)

Very inspirational..as i learned each chan..purposefully set out to make a song n each channel & incorporate all the modes of the channel into the song. 3 came out natural..with chan 2 being the brootal..1 being rock & 3 for some reason running tube rec & spongy with some sag..very raw but a bit darker EQ set up..but yet..its still one tight bugger!

Key part coming in next Tuesday..really tried speakers on it & have the ability to have 3 half good stacks that all hit a lil dif & then use an EV in the MK3 or the Mesa V'30's. What is cool on the Marshall cabs..they punch more mids like i am used to.

In the Marshall small cab.. like it best for the focus..didnt want to copy the speakers have already so ordered 2 of these bad boys to go under the 5150 Sheffields..man i like the sheffy's better than the greenies for the heavy music & the greenies for vocal expression leads...can't wait , have used these before & they pair well on bottm to balance a greenie type on top the 4x12

Wanted to report back after some time in with the mesa's. Been putting riffs in a looper & a/b ing like mad. Amps have lit a fire int the playing.
Triple is amazing,,basically took everything read on the internet & did opposite. my mids are up,,the treble is up & presence used in conjunction with make this thing dangerously easy to place a guitar wherever you want it in a mix. Bass is barely on with the Small cab with Swampers..circuit brings the bass up naturally.. swampers provide the depth & the shffies cut but in a nastier way then the greenies..both balance in the cab & it functions like a giant 1x12 in the room..no dead spot..tunnel..comb filtering..

then on the Marshall bx cab,,wowee, the amp jumps the pond real quick..was like..is it even the same amp? It does all the things i been pushing my marshalls to the edge of recently(pickups..volume..cabs

next song will use it with both cabs together. Should compliment well

If you get a chance to grab a Trip..by all means do. Real serious 2 days of just playing all the guitars through it. It really brought the guitars to life. Some i wasnt playing anymore,. Just switching guitars makes such a drastic change in sound.

By far the best low volume amp ever experienced,,the depth is there. In standard tuning with the Goldtop. Chords, clean type jazz & edge of breakup type playing. Total control of when & how the break is can be set.. It really holds its tone across the volume levels. I like that..not relying on so much volume to get the goods all the time. But when it s does come up..its huge..in the right ways. The interaction of the tone knobs is a blast. I run a looper with another amp on & can dial this thing so easily to be where it needs..it doesn't have the 1 trick only .. and having 3 modes on the gain channels..literally can bump it in notches to be right up at level needed.

It is great at being a classic recto but just found out it's real strength is at low -mid gain. The sheffields bring this amp out & the swampers hold the bottom tight. I do run with barely the bass on. Circuit is a natural at depth as volume comes up. It is so hard to play another amp right after this..even anther killer one..the fullness & 3d quality is addicting.

Then when on the 1960bx cab..completely dif amp... mids shift up. Will be recording the 2 cabs next song. It's been a long time since i got lost in front of an amp & had sheer enjoyment.

Going to try the jensens & see if we can go back even farther in time with the amp & a/b with the jtm45. Inefficient speaker giving up some goods as its pushed a bit. It loves the PAF Masters in V & paf in Goldtop & 61 Zebras SG & 490's SG

I can honestly say none of my amps even cost as much as a replacement set of tubes for the Triple RectumFriar --- hell some of them (combined -- 2 or 3 together) arent as much as the tubes.............

believe there is more talk of tube changes than actually doing them... amp set up right...run long time & pre's very long. never did equate..money..weight...cost..where its made ..who plays em..what people that never played em say.. music..make it..with what ya got.
