Keith Flint, RIP, a rather odd but not a bad person. He eventually bought a pub and one of the house rules was that you had to put a pound in the 'swear jar' if you made a "firestarter" joke about him. From what I know, he was a relatively kind and well mannered guy off stage. He topped himself a few years ago.

I take it to mean he performed the ultimate end. Topped seems to have a rather dark meaning to it. Is it specific to the way in which it happened?

Nothing specific, just a rather British way of saying he took his own life. Went on to the great gig in the sky. I believe he hung himself as it happens.

Probably something similar to what Fender used for the Deluxe Reverb and co, minus the 5V winding for the rectifier on the PT.
So... curious as I am, I had a quick look for gutshots... uh-oh...
Wait, that... can't be right... one wouldn't... ? Nah, the site says "nearly mint condition" but it must be an error.

Well, here's an interesting "hint" I'd never noticed. Take a close look at the header image on the Carr site:
OK, before anyone shouts "oh, look - the valves aren't installed!", yes, that's clear. Just what the actual heck is an energy saver type CCFL bulb doing there? Is this a hint at 'mercury', as they contain it? What a bizarre choice for a header.
Of course, they propagate the old standby myths religiously, but what else is new...
However, this is disconcerting; the manual dates to 2012, yet the amp in question still has a 'death cap'. Really?

That's the original Mercury rather than the current model Mercury V although I have no idea what the differences are. AFAIK they're completely different designs - I think the original was a single power tube 10 watt design. The amps are named after cars - pun on his name I think.

Correct, they've omitted the switch and hopefully the cap in the later 'V' model, but the original can't be older than 1998 which is worrying. That practice had looong been phased out by then for good reason. What really confuses me is the energy saver bulb there, that's just bizarre. I presume it's intentional...
