I found it. And it's here. And it's a Carr Mercury V. And it's the baddest plexi in the land. And I got it for a steal - perhaps because it had a couple of tears in the tolex which I fixed with a drop of superglue in 2 minutes and a dodgy preamp valve that did that bacon frying in the pan thing really loud which I fixed with a spare tube in about 10 minutes.
There's a lot of stuff going on behind a fairly simple looking control panel but when you get it nailed down it's killer.

Probably something similar to what Fender used for the Deluxe Reverb and co, minus the 5V winding for the rectifier on the PT.

So... curious as I am, I had a quick look for gutshots... uh-oh...

Wait, that... can't be right... one wouldn't... ? Nah, the site says "nearly mint condition" but it must be an error.

I built two Tweed Deluxe amps the first one 4 hours a 1959 output transformer sounded killer
the next one 400 hours tried 5 different transformers then got a other 1959 output transformer done
my friend Dr Eric sent me 25 sets of 6V6 found the RCA black plate from the 1940's sound the best

Looks like an excellent build pictured, really nice. Might not have used the old RIFA cans myself, but if they haven't started leaking DC they should be fine. Love those old dark glass RCA valves...!

Well, the google search is linked; I was looking for "carr mercury v inside". I couldn't believe a serial production amp would be shipped like that, but... the googlez tell me otherwise. I'm curious to see what Purple has in there now...
