A home studio project from 1996, originally recorded on 4 track cassette. Acoustic guitar used was a Hohner 400N. Electric guitar used was a 1987 Fender Squire through a JTM 30 Marshall.
In 2005, i was given a beautiful Schecter Hellraiser C1. I used this guitar until 2015. Ot appeared on a number of commercial recordings and it was my main guitar during my time living in Miami Florida.
B.Hefner & Co. was a guitar body/neck/parts source located in Whittier, California. They did a lot of custom work and subcontract work too. You could buy bodies and necks from them outight, or they would custom-machine anything you could dream up.
The old 1988 Squire Stratocaster continued to be used for many, many years. Its final appearance was on September 18, 2019 for an outdoor event in Crestline, California with Fire-Control Band.
I found that i could make the stock, fender tremolo just as reliable as a Floyd Rose, by careful profiling of the nut and modifying the string break angle across the nut.
I thought making a video about my methods of keeping the stock, Fender tremolo in tine, might help others, so i created a short video on how it was done:
Next thing i knew, a recruiter for Fender reached out to my through my YouTube channel and offered me a job...
