Tone you know anywhere, from the first couple of notes?
Brian May
Dave Gilmour
Ritchie Blackmore
Tony Iommi
Michael Schenker
Angus and Malcolm Young
Steve Ray Vaughn
EVH
Jimi Hendrix
Slash
Zakk Wylde
Lots of others but i can hear anyone of those guys and within 2 seconds know who it is
Definitely! Pretty simple signal chain to get the basic tone but his pinch harmonics with lots of chorus is unmistakableZakk Wylde was the first that came to mind when I read the thread title, he’s my favorite shredder but he definitely over saturates his tone with effects. On the flip side, you can’t mistake him for anyone else, the second he starts playing you know who it is and honestly I think that’s 85% of why he uses the effects he does.
He also loves using that rotovibe pedal in combination with his wah pedal.Definitely! Pretty simple signal chain to get the basic tone but his pinch harmonics with lots of chorus is unmistakable

There is a video clip (maybe an interview) of Brian May explaining how, as a young guy he discovered the makings of his signature tone. The only one on that list that I would recognise at all would be Brian May.
