It was sold at an Auction first, the Royal family of Qatar bought it for a million dollars. To increase the guitars charity value the Royals donated it back. I've heard (actually "read") that too. Going on the few I recently checked out & the one I purchased though, I'd say the opposite is more the case. CheersMAN, I heard the quality control at Gibson was on the decline,
