More info needed!

When did this happen?

Help people in need? Which people? What charity is this?

If the guitar sold for $2.7 million, why is the value $3.7 million?

Maybe the guitar would have sold for more if Bryan Adam's didn't sign it...

Oh Greg , you just got your kilt in a twist, cause it wasn't a Gibson...

It was sold at an Auction first, the Royal family of Qatar bought it for a million dollars. To increase the guitars charity value the Royals donated it back. During the second sale, this guitar sold for a whopping $2.7 million. Its total value was $3.7 million. This is all the info, that was on the article. Reach out to Asia was the Charity..

I understand why these Strats are the most expensive guitars in the World, because they are just great playing guitars. When I started playing guitar , I wanted a Strat, my first one was a Fender Squire Affinity, was a great guitar to start out with, I sold it and bought 2 more Strats. The Strats are my favorites of all guitars.

As has been pointed out, David Gilmour's Black Strat sold for more than this. You also can't base total value on two separate sales.

If it sold the second time for $2.7 million then that is it's last know value. If a car is sold numerous times it's value isn't the sum of those sales...

Gilmour for the WIN!
