Yup... New ESR & Capacitance Tester Day! From the UK's Peak Electronic Design, it's their Atlas ESR70 Gold. This cool little gadget can measure ESR measurements of caps while in-circuit and can measure capacitances too. But the tester's capacitance range doesn't start till .3uF, and goes up to 90,000uF. Another cool safety feature is its "auto discharge function". Purchased from Digi-Key for $94 plus $7 for shipping and some tax...: $109 total.

And in some wild action, here's a used F&T cap from my stash being prodded:

Those displayed ESR measurements are considered in the "Normal" range of quality for the sized cap(s) being tested.

Gold plated contacts too:

The Atlas ESR70 won't replace my regular capacitance tester because it cannot measure anything less than .3uF. But it will replace my BLUE ESR meter by Anatek which only measures ESR. If anybody is interested, drop me a message.

Sometimes so heavily focused on the playing that forget about the whole other side of tone..inside the amp. I have so much respect for my tech friend over the years. Me explaining so horribly what was looking for & magically he always nailed it

Not so good at that kinda stuff but man sure would be fun to go down the rabbit hole of building an amp. So many variables it seems & from what i gather. You can really shape your tone. Experimenting would be interesting. Who knows,,next dumble,,KLON phenomenon could be a solder away somewhere ? Hats off to the techs..amazing skill
