MFNAKD... C3 SLO-100 minus 50

Yeah nothing is moving from Texas right now for me either. The jack plate for the 1960A cab, as well as the order of resistors and capacitors from Mouser electronics is all held up in Texas. I ordered before the storm but processing caught me up and now, who knows when?
Ouch!

Welp... Until now, I had no idea that Mouser was located in the state of Texas. Mansfield, Texas that is. That's just southwest of Dallas!

Yeah, my amp kit needs 18 resistors and 3 small caps to complete the build. I also requested a small amount of extra teflon hookup wire. The package of parts was in the hands of a Dallas area USPS facility on the 12th of February... a day after the brutal storms hit that area! Timing is everything... :rolleyes2:

I also ordered, from Granger Amps, a Marshall style one-button with LED footswitch for the SLO amp kit. Ordered it on the 12th, and it shipped on the 15th. This shipment is delayed too. Granger Amps is in Alabama... Dammit... :BH:

Mouser I assume?

No. Parts are coming from C3 Amps. They were accidentally omitted during packaging of the whole kit. C3 Amps is in the north Dallas area, and Mouser is in the southwest Dallas area. Maybe I should get a snowmobile and move next to Mouser... :celebrate2:
Lol since radio shack and a local store called A&K electronics died, we have literally NO suppliers of electronic components nearby, so Mouser it is for me. No matter how small and basic, it has to be ordered

Made some progress on this beautiful Sunday! Installed the power and output trannies, the choke, power switches, fuses, and the power supply board.

Check it out... Medusa's Hair of wires:

But with a little magic... Presto!

The pair of fat orange wires leading to nowhere are going to connect to the vactrols of the preamp board's switching supply circuit. Following the guidelines of C3 Amps, the next phase of this build is to test the power supply before anything else is assembled or connected.

Vactrol?
What is a Vactrol? A Vactrol is a combination of a light depending resistor (LDR) and light source both put into a small light-proof case. In earlier designs incandescent lamps were used as light sources, but today light emitting diodes (LEDs) are commonly used because of certain advantages.
