MFNAKD... C3 SLO-100 minus 50

Whats your voltages on the LDR's / Victrols LED side then the photo cell side
I would guess that it is controlled on the photo cell side like Fender did with the roach tremolo

Here's the C3 Amps voltage chart for the switching circuit with my personal scribblings. The numbers in red represent my first test before I found out about the wrong resistor. The numbers in black pen writing are the results with the proper value of resistance.

Looking at the power supply dropping string R62 2.76 VAC and R63 2.9 VAC I would start to get in that voltage range

The amp is working fine as of a couple days ago. I took a gamble and ordered 4 new vactrols, and that seems to have done the trick. I am not sure if any of the original vactrols went bad, but I'm assuming at least one of them did.

A couple quick phone pics of the almost finished amp build:

I'll take more beauty shots of the innards and post them after I receive a couple more replacement parts to pretty things up in there.

Great work, Sysco.

That casing looks gorgeous. You deserve an elite edition photo for these efforts:

Lots of sounds to be gotten from that amp, kinda looks like an AC30 and Messa all in one; one amp to rule them all... How are the sounds? Which of your SGs sound best through the new amp?

I picked my '05 LP R9 as the reference guitar for this amp's first audition. I haven't used anything else yet. But in a big nutshell, this amp has excellent clean tones on the Normal channel's Clean mode... like Fender Twin style clean.

The Normal channel's Crunch mode is absolutely amazing. I think this is where the Soldano SLO has it's own voice. Definitely has more gain than a stock JCM800, but articulation reigns supreme all the way to max gain. Can't believe how much bottom end can be dialed up before it starts to get muddy. Yet roll the volume control down, even though this channel's gain is set high, you'll still get not just a clean tone, but a beautiful clean tone! Could easily live on this channel and mode all day.

Then there is the Overdrive channel... the Super Lead Overdrive channel! This channel is chugga chugga heaven with violin lead tones that will make Itzhak Perlman say: Oh Hell Yeah... :dood::dood:

^ Greg is wank at guitar, but damn fine with an instrument in his hand... :D

Actually, from hearing his sound clips, he's a damn fine guitar player too. Superb amp is true, Chilli.
