Merry Christmas, everybody!

Well..... It is dry salted Cod that has been reconstituted with water and lye for several days, rinsed profusely and then poached in water. Usually finished with butter and accompanied by boiled potatoes.
Actually, the best way to prepare it after rinsing is to bake the pieces in the oven with a solid amount of salt. If you poach it, it will easily just fall to bits, and could turn into the most disgusting mash ever. Here it is served with boiled potatoes, mashed peas, mustard and small cubes of bacon.

Hmm
Looks like I just probably won't get dressed at all today. Gonna stay in my PJs.

My son came down with the flu. Had a sore throat yesterday, then began the fever...Overnight he started feeling really awful culminating in the act of vomiting at least once first thing this morning. I'm sure my daughter is next, followed by myself and mrs. blinky.

Christmas has been canceled at my place. No prime rib, no joy, bah humbug...I feel really bad for the kiddos. :(

I still hope the rest of you have a great holiday!
