Six String

Before I start posting about the Gear Fest, I wanted to relate (maybe rub in a little...) a few of the goodies I happened to come across. I have music stands for those times they are needed, but they are beginning to show their age. So, what better time to pick up some new ones since about EVERYTHING is reduced for the Fest. Instead of getting the ones I normally got... some 20 years ago... I looked at some others that have a double extension rather then the single my current ones have. If you do an outdoor gig and use one on a hill, you can adjust them to level. Cool!
I tried to resist the Sure mics they ALWAYS have in the deal zone... but unfortunately it got the better of me. Since I have 3 Sure 57's still in the box and a 58 in the box, I figured I should pick up at least 1- 58 to get them equaled out... (The logic works for me) But the kicker is that they sell for $58 (The 57's for $57) you almost can't afford NOT to get one. So I did.....
There were a few other things like some "heavy duty 10's" for the Witch to hopefully solve my breaking string issue at the B-5, and a few small things which are normal pick up items when you go into Sweetwater and say... "well, since I'm here".
But the important item which came home with me is really cool. I bought the AC10 to help me with my stage sound and for most shows it does ok. I have used it at some shows that I needed to push it and I start hearing a little stain on the poor baby. Especially in a drummer situation. I went to a few of the equipment seminars they had and a dude out of Ohio I have seen for the last few years there, was demoing some of the new Vox stuff... one in particular. It is called the MV50. I had not seen these before (but I lead a sheltered life...) and watched him closely. The sounds he got out it amazed me! Especially out of 2- 8" speakers........

This little rig is amazing! 50W of power and being the "AC" model, it has a very cool clean but will turn around and get dirty.

As shown, this is the AC model and it comes in a Rock version and a Clean version. they each cover more of the ends of the AC. I haven't given it a full workout yet, but am really happy with the sounds I'm getting and the power of this little puppy.... and my back is thanking me too! I will be giving it the maiden voyage this coming weekend as I have a Rock gig coming up.
I'll come back after the workout and report.
BTW... when I saw these, my first thought was of the Vox Amp Plug, of which I have 3. They are kind like an Amp Plug........... but on some MEGA steroids! :dood:
