Marshall VS EVH

Which one do you prefer?

@Clockworkmike your amp is kicking azz! :) when it comes in it has so much more life :)
Thats an awesome comparison! At one point, i actually had both the JCM2000 and a Peavey 5150 Signature logo head. I liked both a lot and they had completely different characteristics, like night and day really. But when push came to shove, i sold the 5150 to a friend: it just wasnt a Marshall lol ;)

Really wished i kept it in hindsight

Man i never tried many amps the one i have now is my first proper amp.
I used to use metal master distortion on cl ch and scream its metallllllll....... then i moved to multi effects processors and only now i can tell difference between amps :) sometimes still cant hahaha

I love how "cultured" the modeling amps sound (like Spark and Kemper) and how versatile they are. However, there is something I love about getting a "good" sound out of an amp and pedals, like my guitar heroes did.

I don't sound great, or eve cultured, but I think I sound authentic.

It's a tube Marshall for me, Gents...

Im the same the way dude lol first amp i ever owner was a lil Squier Champ 15w x 8" ( which i still have actually). Oddly enough, ive owned 3 Peaveys and for some reason or another, i sold all 3 to friends from school: a Peavey Envoy Transtube 110 40w combo, a Peavey Audition 110 25w Combo and the Peavey 5150 ( which went to a school friend years after graduating). I wish i kept them all in the end.

The Marshalls though? No chance in the darkest depths of hell am i selling those lol never even crossed my mind. Over the years, i would get into FX processors and would change the sound of them entirely by using the processor as a preamp into the FX return of a Marshall as the power amp. Was cool at times but in the end? I ALWAYS go back to the straight up amp, nothing more than a boost in the front. It just works for me and sounds right. But i do love fx and they can sound awesome

This amp was my first ever amp

My teacher helped me get tones. That multi effect sounded good man really good. But I lost it when this dushbag sold all my stuff from storage even my underwears....

After i bought my dsl, i said i dont need this stupid combo and i sold it for £30 i think... i wish i kept it :) I was like i have big guns who wants the small one :)

oh one more thing in my collage days (donkey years ago before dinosaurs) there was this hype about line 6 amps, one of the models i think it was spider had this option on gain to go insane :)
I used to say rest of the guys ,we have to play with this settings its most metal you can get :)

I think that was my problem too: once i got a half stack, i was like " Piss on these combos, this is better!" But i was young and dumb lol i did actually use the Peavey Envoy 110 for a while after getting my first Marshall though. The JCM900 SLX is single channel and when i was in a band in high school, we'd play stuff where i needed to go from crystal clean to overdriven raunch. So i built an A/B foot pedal from the footswitch that came with the amp: one switch was a boost from Master Volume A and Master Volume B, the other switch i added and drilled 1/4" inputs into and wired it to switch between the Marshall and the Peavey combo that we'd mic up. Worked pretty good, but then i got the JCM2000 and just used it, my buddy in the band didnt have an amp to keep up so i let him use the SLX rig. He ended up getting a JCM2000 100w later on himself
