Marshall VS EVH

I did sound test on my boy (9) I said to him, I’ll put headphones on you have to guess which one is Marshall.... and don't let me down lol

so i did whole clip, the one posted first one on page 1. He didnt let me down, he guessed which one was Marshall, also he said “this one sounded much nice”

when i said this to my wife, she says I’m not surprised you brainwash him everyday lol

thats ma boy making daddy proud!

Huge t75 fan. Have the early one & 2 other versions

Early one is very 65 like, smoother in mids. China version more abrasive but so is V30 from China, makes for a much tighter marshall sound, especialy recorded.
Have X pattern first run cab & X pattern china. X cab. 2 very dif & effective applications& rely on them for so much

These t75 speakers came in some of the main cabs for a reason..but will not work so good at low levels..them marshalls are designed to hit at band levels..almost everything they made works as good as anything if used in intended range.

k100..its like taking a t75 & bringing the taming down the peaky highs..tightening up the bass, a tad fuller & filling the mids in..but its doesn't color as much & these circuits get their due & can shine well. No weakness..no flub yet musical across the EQ..every single amp tried..the personality of the amp shines so much.

The recent 2205 & k100 settled a lot of searching.
Agree completely. I had always had 1960A T75 cabs and they paired up nicely with the heads, the MF400B K100 cabs were really bought for the Mode Four initially but i found they are even greater with the other Marshalls i had. Mixing both together worked even better for me

have to say every Marshall ever had sounded great turned up to kick drum level pretty much. Sometimes at low level play at home ..using amp only..no mix..our settings get way too bassy to sound like a full band, or can sound very shrill super low..no speaker compression either. The circuits bring up the goodnes with the volume. marshall has that natural bass bring up . They record so well..like its right on top the P-bass to begin with. Might be a bit harsh on its own..but man step into a mix..you are there..right where ya need to be without much fiddling around

Very slowly removing amps from the band room as the a/b comparisons continue. getting simpler by the day. Prob going to get 800 2203 soon.

So impressed with the 2205. Its a tad darker..finding out, just might not be a plexi player, Thats ok. Enjoy them but the normal chan on this thing is so open. Running it dimed on Volume is NMV like & takes the SD1-TS-Klon Cl so well. Been learning to dial it in using my other amps strengths & it will cop tones so easily.

The 800's seem to have the bottom i seek..the mesa's got me to learn how to get there.. 50 cal+ is such a non mesa in a way..it led to the 800. Might have made a choice to not go so modern at this age. If we ever play out again surely dont want to be in the downtune scene again.

Both great amps!
I've owned a 6505(which is a 5150 and nearly the same as the EVH) as well as a JSX (still have the JSX) and a few JCM 2000s. (Still do)
Amazing tones from all!

I would choose Marshall over the Peavey most days. It's got a sparkle and crunch that the meaty, middy peaveys don't have.

You can make a Marshall sound close to the Peavey, but not the other way around.

My 2 cents.
