Marshall VS EVH

Something i noticed is its a MF Cab so probably a 400 which means K100s speakers. Thats where a lot of the mids and bottom end is coming from. But settings wise? Absolutely possible. Sounds like hes up in presence , treble and mids. Try your OD2 section and increase those three, primarily the Mids, rolling the bass off a bit
I only have 2 cabs one with Celestion g12-80 and other one Marshall own brand MX models think its g12-60?

When i got the HP8 with k100's, the was what been searching for. Every amp sounds good on that cab. The 100's reveal the amps very well. Not as much coloring & very well balanced.

The 800..soon as that went on..it changed my room. Now found that baseline sound been seeking to paint around with greenbacks & g12's. Sorta woke up & backed off gain a bit & things are getting much more musical. Then what is rad..you can downtune & the cab just smashes on the heavies.

Whats the full name of the speakers I want to look it up?

looking back after the switch to guitar. If i had to do it again. My first 2 Marshalls DSL40(made into head) & 1987 then some mods & Trainwreck 3 PPIMV

would of just got more cabs & speaker options before massive amp binge. It was fun & sure did learn a bunch..kinda at at the 800, 3203,1987 & cab hop now. Then for creative breaks use the Recto/50 cal+ & Orange. If need be can get them all to sound pretty similar. It helped me through this stay at home times after accident

i checked the speaker sounds really good, wanted to see how much they cost but its all out of stock everywhere.

I had a 5153. I found it too compressed, the attack was stifled a bit. I tried various things but eventually traded it.
The 6505 + combo has good bottom end and some punch but still took some playing around. Needs very high presence and some care with the gain knob even though I am a higher gain metal guy. It seems the higher presence gives it, well, that Marshall mid bark.
Overall, it is Marshall for me. My TSL with an OD clean boost up front really does it for me. The JVM amd 6100 as well, amd the Jubilee in a different way.
Marshall for the win here.

Can this tone be achieved with dsl?

I think you can probably get very close with a DSL. Like Mike said (sounds weird typing that as my name is also Mike, lol) he is using a Mode Four cabinet, which is going to have different speakers, and also, I believe the MF cabs are physically larger than a 1960, dimension-wise, which will also play into it a bit too.

This reminds me: I really need to get my TSL up and running again. I miss it. I miss it a lot lol

Lol its alright man, i can be Mike 2, Michael or even Mikey ( im goddamned 37 and people still call me that!)

But yeah you're 100% right on the dimensions of the mode four cabs being bigger. They are about a 1-1/2" taller than a regular 1960 cab, so you do have a bit more area there in sound. They DO have a MF 280w cab with Vintage 30s but you rarely if ever see folks with those because its kinda pointless when you can get a 1960V cab a lot easier. The only thing they had going for them was if you had the Mode Four Head, you could get a slant and straight matching cabinet and use the full 350w because they were 16ohm cabs. The MF400A and Bs are just 8 ohms and you can only use one for the full 350w, which sucks ( i bought the head and two MF400B new only to find out i couldnt use both). I use the other underneath a 1960A 300w cab now and mix them from the JCM2000 DSL50

Is your K100 made in UK or China? How does it compare to the T75? Cheers

Huge t75 fan. Have the early one & 2 other versions

Early one is very 65 like, smoother in mids. China version more abrasive but so is V30 from China, makes for a much tighter marshall sound, especialy recorded.
Have X pattern first run cab & X pattern china. X cab. 2 very dif & effective applications& rely on them for so much

These t75 speakers came in some of the main cabs for a reason..but will not work so good at low levels..them marshalls are designed to hit at band levels..almost everything they made works as good as anything if used in intended range.

k100..its like taking a t75 & bringing the taming down the peaky highs..tightening up the bass, a tad fuller & filling the mids in..but its doesn't color as much & these circuits get their due & can shine well. No weakness..no flub yet musical across the EQ..every single amp tried..the personality of the amp shines so much.

The recent 2205 & k100 settled a lot of searching.
