Singer asked for a rehearsal track for this song, so I based it off a drum track ny colleague recorded and i added the guitars layer by layer. I didn't spend too much time on this and I haven't taken the time to really learn Glenn's solo, so instead, I just threw a one-take improv solo in to complete the song....

There's quite a few errors in these tracks - the doubled parts are not played exactly the same and the picking cadence is off on some parts, but this is a lot like it sounded when we had two guitarists playing it together live, so I didn't perform any overdubs. It's 100% 'As-Is.'

I doubled the rhytms, but the cadence is off, so i may delete one rhythm tracks and electronically duplicate it, plus get a decent solo...

Well done Robert, the only thing I would change is the amount of gain, that’s it , excellent rendition of a well known song.
I give you guys a big thumbs up, hope you’re on the track for another new bassist.
Would hate to see the talent go separate ways at this point.

Geez!!!! That's only half as much gain as I usually run!!!! LOL!!!

I'm notoriously heavy, but my Marshall tone isn't as gainy, but I don't have a good SM-57 at the moment...However, I believe that you are correct. I may intentionally de-gain and re-track tonight. Jim needed a rehearsal track on a "right now" basis, so I blew it our this morning before the rest of the crew showed up.

Good catch...here's what Glenn said in a recent interview:

"I have almost exclusively used Marshall amps, but now I also use ENGL amps for stage work. I used Regular Vintage 50 and 100 Watt Marshall heads, without a master volume until 1982, when the JCM 800 head was developed. I then used the JCM 800 with Rocktron pre amps as well. Currently I use one of three or four racks which include ENGL pre and power amps, Marshall 9100 poweramps and cabs with the addition ENGL backless cabs...."

totally agree !! I just have to censor myself....the DSL has such sustain & crunches so well..i just palm mute & cant stop from getting progressively heavier..If i had male singer,would prob still be on DSL & SLX...have that cab with gt75 & vintage30 in X pattern from late 80's England ones...man what a rock rig...
