So I got something I haven't had in over 25 years: Streptococcus A aka Strep Throat. I just thought it was allergies because pollen this year has been absolutely merciless. But then again, I don't really get seasonal allergies, so I knew something was off. But Thursday my throat got incredibly sore at work, legs began aching and I just felt bad in general. Came home, took a nice warm bath and loaded up a cocktail of Excedrin, Nasal decongestant, allergy pill and some Halls lol. It only continued to feel worse the next day as I was outside staining my kids' swing set.
Woke up this morning at like 5am and couldn't swallow. Made a hot cup of tea with honey and lemon and didn't help, tried a popsicle and didn't work either. So I scheduled an appointment at Med Express and within 5 mins was told I got Strep A. Used to keep that crap when I was younger but it always came with a nasty fever, burning eyes, usually vomiting and blisters on my throat. I didn't have any of that this time just a super sore throat so I figured " Eh, must be the pollen!".
Anywho, got some antibiotics and they gave me this crazy gargle solution that's 2% lidocaine and looks like clear sludge. I tried gargling this $hit? And just choked because it's thick as Molasses lol but hey, my throat is numb now but so is my tongue, lips, gums etc and I just drooled like a goon for about 20 mins lmao
Good news is supposedly not contagious after 24 hrs of begining antibiotics, so I guess the entire Memorial Day weekend isn't a TOTAL loss!
