Rough night for the bands! But hey! That's just rock and roll man... That's just rock and roll.
We got there at 6 for our scheduled sound check.
They weren't ready for us, last band was way behind still doing their sound check... For like half an hour....then. stage went blank! They Killed something. Power wise.

Another half hour they got everything powered back up.
Then the next band sound checked. Now we're an hour behind. Headliners haven't even showed yet. So.... They didn't get to check at all.

We finally get on and check in like 15 minutes. Then our opener girls band gets set up and check. Takes us right to and past the 8:00 start time.

Girls go on around 820 play half hour set.

We jump on stage and half way thru the first song, we lose monitors. Drummer can't hear us, I can only hear the bass cab....
Sound guy running up and down trying to fix it. Super nice guy, but it wasn't running smoothly for sure ha ha.

Our singers first show as a singer, she was so nervous and performed just ok. She got better as we played. I missed a vocal part because I was rocking out at the drum kit ha ha

We played the whole set I could only hear the drums and bassist.
Hard to get squeaks and harmonic feedback when you can't hear yourself ha ha ha.

Got through our set, drug all the equipment back to the studio came back to watch the next band finish up. They were kids and not our kind of music at all.

Then the headliners got up and the first song killed the power again! I went and got food and headed home.

Right now I'm working on trying to convert video (new camera ) into a format I can use with reaper since I also recorded audio with my portable R2D2 unit lol....

It was super fun and the crowd was great! They all said it sounded great FOH so I guess that's what matters most.

I have been working on audio and video for a few hours this morning.... It is weak at best. I might be able to post one song.

I finally took a Les Paul on stage.

What's a "sound check?" :pound-hand:

Cool! Only heard a bit yet will listen later fully.

Nothing worse than multiple bands and the schedule is off. Oh, except for little to no monitors. Just really poorly organized I must say.

Y'know, you have way more experience playing out with a 4x12 than I have but my experience would be that you seem fairly close to the cab and almost beside it. They are so beamy it would be hard to hear yourself properly perhaps where you are situated?
Stage volume assumedly fairly high and vox might be poor through horrid monitor system. It's a struggle for the singer. I couldn't hear vox well through FOH on the video.
Will watch more but good on her for going with zero monitors. Just a ridiculous way to run a show.
Cheers for you guys

You're right, all the way around.
I could not hear myself well at all. When we checked, the monitor was working. But everything changed. Way it goes.

Her vox were pretty quiet, all the foh folks said we sounded great except vox were a bit hard to hear.

The other guitarist in Whiplash used to use his (my old....) 2203 half stack. Never could hear himself. Turn it up to 2 and bury everything else! Too beamy, standing too close. We used to have to mix around that instead of the drums. We try not to play loud and bludgeon the audience, not for the events we play.
Finally he got a 2x12 combo. Way better. More MV control than a 2203 plus it spreads more.

As much as I have always insisted on half stack and 100w heads because METAL!.... To do this show over again I would have taken my 2x12 and maybe even my Peavey MH.... Lot less hassle this was a pretty small venue.

P.S. we kind of like to blast the audience!

I think it's cool you have a venue to support your work. That and mentoring the kids is also a good thing for the future of metal .

Yeah not trying to dis the 4x12 just they are awkward on a smaller stage for sure. I got an angles 2x12 Mojotone so I can hear it properly when it is on the floor behind me.

@Headache
Your clips sound balls out awesome, yea the singer may have been nervous, but she fits the band perfectly, she will break out of the shell with a few more performances.
Nice work for the whole band.
