I don’t think he’s gonna do it.
Maybe, Ray could send it back to PRS with a note:
“Hello Mr. Smith,
I don’t know if you remember me. You gave me the nickname, ‘Mr. Tuners’ at a recent event.
Ha ha! That was a hoot!
Good times...good times!
Anyway, please, find enclosed a stunning PRS guitar. I’m wondering if you could have someone on your fine team of skilled artisans knock down the gloss just a touch on the back of the neck?
I’d do it myself, but I’d much rather this be done at the factory from which this stellar piece of instrumental craftsmanship originally emerged. In this fashion, the alteration to the finish on the back of the neck will constitute a factory enhancement and not a user modification.
I’m willing to pay up to $200.00 USD for this work.
Please, enclose a company certificate, identifying the subject guitar by model and serial number, indicating this modification as a PRS factory customization.
Thank you,
Mr. Tuners”
Hey...it might work!!!
Aaaand, if PRS accepts Ray’s offer, he gets to spend $200.00 instead of $2.00!
Woohoo!!!
