I'm not entirely sure Heath wants to play my drums...he's got some nice ones of his own. That would be like Jake asking me to play one of his crappy guitars. I don't think I'd want to lol

I'm gonna have to push that MESA out of the way....they've got me a bunch of rack stuff too.....and I've never even had a chance to use it yet

It think it would be better to leave you to that project seeing that we have tryed this with Rex once before. Also this is just my opinion not ment to offend anybody but I for the most part think punk sad and talentless excuse for music. If Rex was willing to work outside punk and enter the realm metal/rock poop anything other than I may give it a second chance. The other problem is I don't care for hearing bitching I just want to jam. Its supposed to be a team effort not the Rex show

That's why lately I've just kept the two projects completely separate from each other. There's yours and mine, and then there's the Hardway stuff.

And that's fine by me, as they are two totally different things.

The riffage I write for our stuff will stay with us, while the stuff I have to come up with to fit their material is completely different and wouldn't really work with our style anyway.

They can and should keep at what they're doing, and we'll find appropriate personnel for our own project, in time. I just don't see any reason to continue to attempt to get Heath out to drum for us. He just doesn't seem to be interested. We already know that his brother doesn't want to play in a metal group....and that's okay....if it doesn't fit, then it doesn't fit. Not a problem.

Meanwhile, I'm open to playing anything with anyone. I just want to play.
 
I do agree the two should stay separate olso for the part that my personality doesn't fit with them. I can accept that. I've been a good while looking for other members with not much luck. Excuses are its to complicated for them after showing them a few clips. Maybe should say forget it and go virtual band but then there goes trying to gig

That's where the two projects I'm involved with butt heads.

The bass player of the punky group has a very clear vision of what he wants to do with it, and he's the main writer in that group. Likewise, LRT and I have a clear vision of what we want to do with our project too.

The two don't seem to mesh well. We've tried.. And that's just fine. A successful band has to have a certain chemistry and if it's just not there, you can't force it. It just is what it is.

We'll just find some other people that want similar things. No biggie.

I'm afraid that might be setting the bar too high, and we'll only disappoint ourselves. But I agree. Ideally it should be a collaborative effort from the band as a whole....but often that's not how it is. Imagine being the new bass player and telling James Hetfield that you want more involvement in the writing process lol

Metallica is HIS baby....ain't nobody going to do anything that he doesn't like or authorize...(except maybe Lars, that little bit- nevermind)

Mastodon is highly unusual in that all original members are still with the group, but also each member has side projects too.

It was more to show what happens when the members are able to express them selves as individuals. Wasnt trying to set the bar but screw it reach for the sky

where i live every one wants do do everything but what i want, i have compromised and when i tried it didnt work out we clashed in the end. got to the point where i could not take it anymore where my singer wanted to sing about his wife , that when i said Intercourse this poop.... lol

Could have told him that he could sing about his wife, but only if his wife assumes the role of an evil boar.....that way it doesn't sound like a love song, it'll just be weird instead
