Katana head user’s

I don’t have a Katana. I do have a Kemper. The Kemper is a profiling system that is geared to use FRFR speaker systems. It excels with studio monitor speakers, and PA rigs.
The Katana amps are modeling amps that are geared toward more conventional guitar speaker systems, from what I’ve read. I don’t know how much they offer for “cabinet emulation” etc, but the combo versions have a speaker(or two) that are geared towards use with the Katana, by Boss. That said, I’ve read where combo owners have swapped in WGS speakers, and called it an improvement/upgrade. If there is extensive availability of cabinet emulation/impulse response stuff, then maybe try a line out (NOT A SPEAKER OUT)to your PA and see how it sounds.

I believe the Katana has no speaker emulation from the outputs, as such.
I like the presets for sure a lot to figure out
Difficult for a non tech guy but i will as it can do a lot of things in the Tone studio to get some incredible stuff pretty happy so far
Looking at this cab to pair it with cheap but V30’s ought to sound delicious
I never played too much hooked to the computer, I just set a mode and gain EQ etc how I liked and saved to a preset.

I bought this for the practice amp with the little speaker i am pretty impressed

Looking for a decent not bank breaking 2x 12 cab
Was considering a Marshall mx212ar and the boss cab212 both are used
What cab are you using an how do you like it
This thing will be easy for road trips to my parents farm the next few weeks
Thanks in advance

I bought a seismic audio 2x12 last year and added my own speakers, it was inexpensive, built very well, and sounds great.

What was your speaker formula?
I ran my katanas through a lot of different speakers.
Sounded great thru them all.

Also had the best luck with the guv'ner pedal in the software.

Right now I'm running a couple of 8ohm V30s in the seismic cabinet and it flat wails!

Here's the cab I got.

Know that this is a front mount cabinet. So they behave and sound a tiny bit different than a 4x12.....not better or worse, just a different flavor of awesomeness.

Thanks a bunch Bro!
Much impressed with the head unit even the little 5 inch speaker gets some decent tones i know a cab will make it intense ! Just trying to find right cab i like the upright but that isn’t a deal breaker if i find the right one
Monoprice has a 2x12 cab thats built nice and v30’s 369$ i need make sure wired for 8ohm
Was hoping to find something nice used local

I bought a used blackstar venue 2x12 first, and it was great! It was cheap too, lucked out! But I sold it off with a DSL head awhile back and had to buy another 2x12.

I am pretty sure the little in head speaker is just to listen in real time while you adjust your software and be able to hear the changes as you load them.

It's just like a quick handy monitor where you can bring your head in the house and plug it in to your computer and make changes and then back out to your big rig.

The internal speaker is for “practice amp mode”, so you can fire it up in the living room without annoying anyone.
