Gentlemen; if I had my choice between purchasing a 360 or a 370, (and I know this is a subjective question,) but for those out there who own working models of
both which model is preferred and why? I've owned both, but it was long ago and in a galaxy far away; and the only thing that I'm remembering is the
sound , with my Ric, that I got from the 370, and how incredibly loud it was. The 360 worked fine for the 4 yrs. that I owned it, but didn't have the
definition of sound that the 370 had due to, I believe, the graphic eq! The possibility of more mid-presence, I seemed to favor! Back when, that is! The last
time either was in my possession was 1976! So update me, set me straight. So I can hope to make an informed purchace when/if the opportunity arises! And we
thank you!

72jazz, since the 360 is just a preamp, I'll assume you're asking about comparing the full 361 stack (360 preamp + 361PP powered 18 cabinet) against
the full 371 stack (370 amp + 301 unpowered 18 cabinet).
I've seen a lot of people say here that the 371 doesn't sound as good as the 361, that the 360 electronics are warmer and the 361PP cabinet sounds
better than the 301. It's been years ago, but like you I've owned both and I say... "it depends".
My recollections are similar to yours... I was into that super clear midrange punch a la Gary Thain of Uriah Heep... The 371 definitely had that to a greater
degree than the 361. I did love the sound of the 361 too... I'll never forget the first time I heard Humble Pie - Greg Ridley had FOUR of them, and it was
chest-pounding & bone shaking - a perfect amp for his foam-damped nylon strings.
I loved both, but when you say mid-presence and sharp clarity, to me you're talking about the main strength of the 371.
