Interview:

The correct fix is to plug and re-drill....
Which, by the way, is what I'm doing to my son's Honey Tele that I put together for him earlier in the year. The screw holes in the body pocket and the neck were all out of whack, so I've filled both and am about to mark new positions and redrill them. Robert can attest to that.

Yes, I know... going at it the hard way.

I know, just saying....
That brown fake Tele I have, had to move the bridge. Didn’t quite line up with neck. High E string was right at the edge of the fret board. Low E in too far. And yes. Plugged screw holes and redrilled. Probably not perfect…. But good enough. Plays decent. Stays in tune. Intonation correct. Didn’t spend much on it, so figured what the heck.

It's really disappointing to see all these errors....

It was one of those kit guitars. Comes in a box. Everything predrilled. Assembly required. Quality isn’t alway on the forefront. In this case. Someone else had assembled it. It was ugly. Sanded down to bare wood and refinished it. It’s about what you’d expect from a $125 build it yourself kit. But…. It’s playable.

I did make a few additions. New bridge. Thru body strings. 4- way switch. Had to replace the neck pup.

Looks like a good job on that!!!!

But on a more serious note: If I could male a suggestiion to Fender through your voice, all these spare necks and parts can be channeled to music and other schools to help the budding musicians get some practice and training in giving maintenance to their own guitars (refretting, hardware maintenance, nut cutting, even some kind of neck de-warping and de-twisting). Just a quick idea...

All the hardware is removed and cataloged. Most of these necks have a dramatic twist. It's a write-off.
