Very common issue on Gretsch guitars....oversize insert holes.

No. Not at all. But it's one of the most common things I see.
A bit of five minute epoxy and it’ll be right as rain.

Those units are scrapped.
Send it my way. Even my crappy way of fixing things could repair that. Actually be pretty easy. Won’t look factory or anything. But it’d be playable.

It depends. Sometimes they go back to the builder (China or Indonesia) for credit and sometimes they pull the parts and catalog them for future repairs.

Of course, on a new instrument, repairs like this are not allowed. In this case, It's a Chinese made Gretch, probably cost around $80.00 to produce.
