I had a Fender Stage Lead II back in the 80s. It was a good amp and really worked great with pedals. It was a heavy beast though, solid state does not automatically mean light. My new little Ampeg PF350 is SS and it sounds great with the bass. Maybe I should revisit the SS guitar amplifier.

Whilst I prefer my tube amps, I have to say that the little Taurus S3 -HG 60 watt pedal amp sounds very good. Has a single 12AX7 so not totally SS but c'mon it isn't a true tube amp. 2 channels with a boost, loop, etc.
As compact as it gets, loud and remarkably good sounding. It's analog too.

My grandson has one of the Orange 35 watt SS amps, same one S5 has, and they are great amps.

You won’t regret it, they are cool amps, and will do the darker metal tones also!
and go back to light crunch as well

Analog solid state can sound awesome. Digital is still .

I do prefer tubes, but many analog SS amps, like the Oranges, kick butt.
